Some interesting observations for people who intends to keep this weed ..

I've tried 2 separate occasions and failed ..

2nd time .. because I have a bleached detached yuma needing a rock .. I used the died out turtle weed rock as a base and put in my sump with low light and almost zero flow ..

well .. my yuma melted .. but the turtle week grew back .. as in it is flourishing .. in my sump now ?!!

Here's a couple of difference I see from the main tank ..

low lighting

low flow

no fish nibbling on the rocks ..

temperature around 27.5 degrees C ..

you guys are welcome to feedback if this is how the turtle weed grass has survived in your tank ..

Actually very seldom fishes will eat turtle weeds, but they tend to nip at it and let it flow off, I don't understand why they do this, like as if the turtle weeds did something wrong, haha. Btw, for flow rate, they sure do better with low flow, I tried placing mine at high flow, and all the weeds being blown off the rock in an hour time. But for lighting, I don't agree with low lighting, although yours grow well, but they may not be able to withstand for long. I think the lowest kind of lighting you should input for them would be PL. Some of them have it under MH, they survive well, very well photosynthesis and thus very green.

ya must control the lighting.. constent i guess... i try blasting the weed with long photo period.. grew like there was no tmorrow. then shorten the photo period dastically. i didnt do it intentionally lar, at that point i realise that the photo period was way too long so i shorten it.

the weed bleached then die !
