Need Help with Sump

Please take a look below and advice me what would be beneficial for me to fill in the 2nd compartment of my sump. Appreciate your feedbacks

for me, I would prefer to put some sand, some live rock, and grow cheato there to hlep reduce the nitrates. Could grow some red bamboo there as well, so that can use that as 'food' for the tangs.

How do you grow cheatos there? u referrring to refugium? I did try to keep "green plants bubble like" forgot the name but kept dying and had to clear asap.

You'll need to install a light for the chaetos or other plants to grow. The lights gotta be switched on for most of the time. Some people just leave the lights on 24hours.

bro, must it be planted under sand or just buy it offshelf and turn on the lights?
