hi bros, whats a FR?is it a phosphate reactor?

A FR is used as a phosphate remover to minimize po4 in the water which promotes unhealthy algae.

Its a simple gadget, yet impt for most aquariums, especially if your aquarium is fairly new.

Phosphate remover needs to be change every 1-3 months.

FR is a fluidise reactor. Most of us use it as a PO4 remover. By placing PO4 remover beads inside, and it will slowly stir up those beads when tank water is slowly pump in and out of the FR, this can fully use up all surface area of those beads compared to using those white coloured bag. But besides placing PO4 remover, FR can be use as other types of remover tools. It really depends on what type of stuff you intend to put in.

Right now, many of the LFS sell the FR together with the PO4 remover beads. Which will seems to be at high price. But if you were to calculate them individually, actually they sell at acceptable rate. You can ask henry for help, I think he have a sale now, when you buy the PO4 remover, the FR will be at a cheaper price.
