Day 5- 19/10/2003. 7.15pm

After countless attempt to trap the yellow-tail damsel out of my tank, finally decided to improve the fish trap after listening to some bro's useful advice.

Drilled 2 holes on the trap and attach sucker pad to it. Brine shrimp wrap in plastic bag with opening to allow brine shrimp to flow out smoothly and slowly

5.46pm - Mount the trap onto the glass, squat in of the tank with the string in my hand

6.00pm - first contact, damsel went to the trap and start poking the plastic trap cover. Almost wanted to pull the string when it came out again

7.10pm - needless to say.. almost squat in front of the tank for about and hour plus, doze off twice. Decide to push the trap lower and loosen the brine shrimps so that they start floating around. The damsel making a mad dash into the trap and i PULL!!!!!

That was fast

Its takes me days just to trap a damsel :ooh:

*hmm.... mayB I wasn't concentrating enough :P

hi everyone. I am new to forum itselt but i have a method i used to trap the fishes.

I used a 2 litre coke bottle and cut up to half. Then, i invert the top half and insert to the bottom half. This will roughly look like a trap for catching crabs.

Poke some small holes to the bottle for water circulation. Add a weight into the bottle to prevent from floating.

Then add some food.

Place bottle into the tank for half day. Hopefully you can catch the fish you wanted.

I hope this will help. I tried this method before and i find it to be quite useful. The advantage is that you do not need to montior the trap. just leave it there and pray for the fish to fall for it.
