Keeping/Collecting Tube WormS

Hey pple~

I feel like keeping a tank full of tubeworms of different colours and sizes.

I am sure the tank will look nice rite?? Then will be very much different from other tanks.. keke.. So if u all know where sell different types of tubeworms pls let me know~~ Or if any of you would be giving away ur tubeworms please let me know hor~~ heehee..

IS yellow tubeworm considered rare?

Jurong west area has a marine fish shop that do sell this kind of tubeworm ocassionally.

i can safely tell u tt those rare tubeworms dont come cheap..

saw a bali green tubeworm for $4(size: 10 cent ) at SL..

common once will be brown and white.

which would cost abt $1 or $2.

im also into collecting them!

currently i have a green, white and brown...

was wondering should i spend 10 bucks on a small purple 1 i saw in 1 of the LFS...

still browsing.

do update us on those rare colours!

2 4ft tubes 10000K and a 4ft actinic blue in a 5 ft casing

on a 5ft tank. ammonia/NO2 = 0 but NO3 still being treated

with AZ-NO3, last checked at 30mg/l but going down.

will it survive?

i agree.... lol... my tubeworm not only has left its casing, the head and the body disintergrated but both parts still wriggling.......kekekekeke....

The worms in the 2ft tank will need feeding with some fine food like phytoplankton. Kent Phytoplex (bottled dead phytoplankton) can be used if everything else is inconvenient. (it can be kept in the fridge)

They will need to be in a quiet place otherwise they will be hidden most of the time. Put in fine sand to allow them to build their mucus tubes. Feed once a week with phytoplankton and use some simple and GENTLE filtration. (air pump operated??) If so, you'll need to do small water changes.

P.S. adding some amphipods and copepods to your tank will allow pods to breed in the tank. The larvae will feed the worms and the pods eat the leftover phytoplankton. It's a win-win situation.

if the skin is off, dont bother to put near by and hope the worm will crawl back in

they grow new tube.... I saw my tube worm half way through the "rebuilding" of the tube.. dark purple in color...

It just looks like a non-furry big bristleworm or an earthworm slightly skinner than it's tube, with a fluffy head attached. that's all.

just went to CF today.... LIM CHU KANG LANE 6F u wont miss it, they have at least 100 pcs, with colours like red, black, purple, yellow, green etc etc.... some mixed colours too....go check it out.....
