yeah...tangs typically have ich problems...esp. the powder blues and blue tangs...

that why.. so.. with UV installed, hope that allow me to keep a blue tang that i wanted so much.

blue tang is easy to keep... just try to get a bigger size and watch their diet will be fine.. they will still eat like a pig even if they have itch.. however powder wont eat if they have itch

I had a powder blue, about 3", ate normally, had ich, still couldn't make it after 1 month! Sigh...

me worst even smaller tank than glim18, guess i need to look for the size of 2 inch plus max and wondering whether this size consider as baby tang.

that will be consider small. <2" TINY and <1" is baby

2.5" will be a good size but they grow very very fast.

but heard that if your tank is small... it will not grow fast, for a nano cube like mine, i looking for 2 inch, 1 inch and below consider baby and heard that extremely hard to take care.

not really, i used to have 1, someone gave it to me at 2" very very thin guy. within 1 and half month, it double its size to like 4" and very fat. i feed what he ate almost 3/4 of it

For other fishes, i don't mind getting from LFS. As for BT, rather try my luck on any reefer as the chances of suceed would be higher... at least i would know its eating pattern.

cf qurantine their fishes. get from them and you wont be wrong, but price will be higher. well, blue tang shouldnt be too hard to get it to feed. since they are one of the most greedy tang around

wonder if i get a BT, will it be able to get along with my other fishes, currently i have 1 true and 1 normal clown, 1 blenny, 1 bandai cardinal, 1 spendid dottyback and lyretail wrasse. Can advise ?

u can dont trust other LFS but CF is the want that u must trust..

bro, MUST is too strong a word, i rather use 'most likely'. well with the livestock, i see no problem with it except for bioload. but, spendid dottyback are fierce bugger, must have to take note of him

Spendid is the king in my tank now, thought the lyretail would be the one but spendid overcome the lyretail.. Spendid is semi-aggressive and lyretail classify under aggressive... guess i won't know till i put the BT inside. Thanks for the reminder on the bioload.. guess i will need to control the feeding and water change weekly basis as this is my normal practice.
