how to clean / maintain sand

my sand start to turn all into brown,

how to clean or maintain the sand always white?

is it always suck away the sand?

Hi,

Sand turning brown... means diatoms are growing on them. You can get some sand shifters like sand dollars or sea cucumbers to clean the sand. A good current flow in your tank will also minimise diatoms growth on sandbed.

Get a black sea cucumber. It helps like miracle. Really. But make sure you do a check on the predator of black sea cuke before placing one into your tank.

Bro , How big is your tank and what lighting you re using and also how long has you started this tank????

1) Current flow have to increase.

2) Minimise lighting timing (also see what you ve in you tank)

3) Sand dollar cleans in your sand.

4) Sea cucumber cleans top sand surface.

Also please check on your PH ya.

As it s common on new tank but this problem can be solve if we ve the correct equipments for the tank.

get the black sea cucumber. Ugly but very effecitive to keep your sand clean and white. You want one thing (nice, white, clean sand) so no choice get the other thing (black, ugly cucumber)

Hehehehe I agree sea cucumber looks ugly but remember if you want your tank to look clean (sand) then sea cucumber is the ans. Buy the smaller one it ll do it s job.

you may want to try diamond goby also. Never tired of filtering the sand.
