T5 lights

Hi,

Thinking of getting 2 unit of 2 x 54W T5 light for my 5ft tank. Need some advise on the following:

a. ATI or Aquascience tube, which is better?

b. What is the combination of tube to get for the 4 tubes?

BTW, my tank is coming this Sunday. Very excited and can't wait to see the tank.

Oh, looking for another aquabee up5000 or up7000 pump as my return. Any bro if selling do let me know.

Firstly, congras on yr new tank.

I would choose ATI, as it a more brand establish. Three superwhiye and 1 actinic blue would be good. Some of the reefer prefer Aquablue special, i find it too blue to my liking. HTH

anyway like what yklim said, ATI is a better choice,

i personally would prefer aqua blue spezial as i prfer slightly blue tank.. but superwhite increase coral growth like SPS.

I saw that your are doing a 5ft tank...why are u opting for a 4ft t5 instead? It will be a better choice for u to use a 5ft lights or a 5ft tank...

I opted for 4ft partly becos of elect. consumption. 4 x 80w for 5ft vs 4 x 54W for 4ft. Understand that 4ft will also do the job.

What you think? What will be the good combination of tubes?

so base on your theory, a 4ft tank should use a 3ft light than? just to save electricity?

It will be best if you use the correct length so that u can achieve a better coverage. Of course u can use a 4ft tubes but u will have some blind spot at both end of ur tank.
