controlling Aiptasia

hi all,

i heard and search the web,

noe that copperband butterflyfish do eat on aiptasia too

do anyone second that??

i have a longnose hawkfish in my tank,

so i think peppermint shrimp is outta the question

however, copperband butterflyfish is quite difficult to keep?

anyone has any experiences?

i have a fishes - yellow foxface, brown surgeon tang, yellow tail damsel, sixspot sleeper goby, longnose hawkfish..

corals - flowerpot, green mushies, sunnies..

so can i keep this copperband??

pls advice.. thanks..

concern abt it being attack or stressed by other fishes.. ( like the damsel )

its very hard to get them to feed. and not all cbb will eat aiptasia. its depend on the fish itself

hey bro go and get this at Petmart and it will solve your problem

i also got this problem once . just inject and see them die right before your eyes !

This does not solve areas which is difficult to reach. I will rather mix kalk paste.

i tot of adding kalk or other chemicals too

my concern is the water parameters?

after adding them, does it affect my water greatly

i wan the aiptasia to die only not all my marine life..

Does not affect other corals unless u spray on them. So far no casulty except aiptasia. U need thick kalk and inject directly into the aiptasia using syringe. The unuse add with water and do dripping lor.

umm.. the SGF.. not known to nip on corals..

so far kalk quite effective. but at time also lazy to kill when there's only 1 or 2

but those in the overflow a bit difficult to reach

Umm.. my SGF likes to nip at zoos ... take note .. might be just individual fish preference.... but ya ... i have no aiptasia poblems ... so far ..

i got this too and it works like miracle. instant results. It come with a needle syringe and mostly reachable , unless those hidden well below

Its a bit costly compared to kalk thou. but no worries when its used in the tank as it does not pollute ur water
