T5 Or 250W MH

hi guys,

currently i am running on 4 x T5 lighting for my 2 feet cube tank and i was thinking of upgrading the lighting to 250watts or add another 2 x 24watt retrofit.

cant seem to make up my mind.

any input??

i keep mainly LPS and softies only and the tank is in my room. :thanks:

2x1.5x1.5 tank

Lighting: AI hydra 52HD

Skimmer: Deltec SC 1455

Reactor: Minimax; rowaphos

Skimz  ; NP biopellets

Wave Maker: MP 40 WQD

Return pump: Eheim 1262

Chiller: Arctica 1/10 hp

Another 2 T5s would be sufficient... Or go for 150w... 250 w a bit too much if you going for LPS and Softies...

or

1 x 150 watt MH ??

if i just used 1 Mh , will the coverage should be enough??

for me, i will go for 150watts with a good reflector in order to have a good coverage. A single 150watts will be enough for ur tank. U can run with eballast so that it will save electricity in long run.

Couple with blue t5's to get a nicer blue hue.....

I dont think by using more 24W T5 will help.

Might as well go 250W. Becos later if u go sps, then have to sell away existing fixture again at a lost. Penny wise pound foolish IMO. With 250W u can lower yr photoperiod and the light penetration is fantastic.
