Hi guys,

I decided to get some red slime powder to combat a bout of cyano that I've been facing, I dosed the recommended amount yesterday and so far the only thing I noticed is the skimmer going crazy...

What am I supposed to see and how long before I can notice the cyano dissapearing?

Thanks!

Ervine

Can't remember the brand. Got the powder from c328 the one nearer to coffee shop. Called Red slime remover or something like that(mix with water will be yellow color). about $25 i think :pinch:

Hope it will work for you. Even using the aqua medic oso took me about 3 days to see result.

Instructions Recommend to remove as much excess cyano first than dose.

Aiyo... Skimmer should be turned off when using any medication... Becos the skimmer will skim away the medication thus no effects at all..

I have used the red slime remover for my cyano before... Works wonders for me... Anyway it only took me 2 day to remove all the cyano...

I got no problem with the red slime remover. Overnight the cyano dies off by the 24 hrs no sight of living cyano. But you may need to scrap the dead "body" off the glass surface as well as the LR.

As bro Terryz_ mentioned you need to off your skimmer in order for the powder to be effective. Only used it once and had never experiece any relapse :lol:

hi, try not to use this product as it will kill alot of the bacteria in your tank, which can cause your tank to crash, to get rid of cyano, increase water flow over affected areas

I agree with Zipp86. Previously I had used Aqua medic's product and remember it stating that water change is required after medication as the medication do kill the bacteria and will cause a ammonia spike. Increase the flow and add a diamond spotted goby. Gurantee that the sand bed will be cleaner than newly bought :eyebrow:

Best Regards,
