My recent Bali trip

Recently I dived in Bali with BIDP... great guys, great weather... but my only gripe was... THE WATER WAS TOO BLOODY COLD!!! 22C!!!!

I thought with a inner rashguard and a hood, I would be fine... I was never so wrong... after every dive, up on the boat under the blazing sun, I was still shivering! Brrrrr!!

The only dive spot I enjoyed was near the Liberty Wreck, where the water was a lot more reasonable at 25C!

I was shooting this coral banded shrimp inside a dark alcove....

... when out of the corner of my eye... under an overhang was.... a hundred of its babies!!! Transparent, hovering 1 inch duplicates!!!

It's just to inspire everyone that the sea is a wondrous place... and our marine tanks will never come close to what Mother Nature has underwater... the only way to appreciate it is to be there yourself!

BIDP is great! I always dive with them when I'm in Bali. Where did you get that Mola Mola shot? Nusa Penida? Very strong current?

Yup, Nusa Penida! Current wasn't that strong, saw the Mola Mola at 20m. Water was bloody cold due to thermocline. We decided that was the last dive after seeing the sunfish! (was supposed to come back to the same spot the next day!)
