my crocea

dear senior reefers

clam lovers ###### researchers..

its was still alright yesterdae, 2 days ago, last week..

BUT i notice my crocea looking kinda unusual todae

its shell is opening big as usual..

however its mantle is not protruding out like it used to..

when i pick it up, touch it, it has no reaction..

until i try to exert a tiny bit force on it..

it shuts immediately.. so i noe its still alive (myb half dead??)

my hawkfish always like to rest on top of it.. (juz resting)

but the crocea did not have any reactions as i tot it is used it aly..

i am placing it @ the top 3rd of my tank as i do not have MH, using t5 only

is this the cause? poor lightings??

water parameters are alright so far..

all corals and fishes living in harmony and peace..

i heard that when clams die off, their shell will juz open big and tear apart then die,

is it true??

if it dies, will it cause any spike in any thing in my tank??

shld i remove it 1st??

any suggestions or similiar incidents any other reefers have b4??

could be parasitic snails man. i was just reading it in rk mag.

did not notice any parasite snails leh

umm.. anyway its DEAD.. juz got home and it dead..

now the shell become specimen in my tank liao..

but still keen to find out how it die..

if any reefers come across this mystery..

Clams normally if have been good but die suddenly because:

1.they have something attacking their bottom, even bristleworms...

2. Choke by something as they are filter feeder... even sand
