Discover that there is a tendency for the sorb-4 to escape out from the FR into the sump. DIY a strainer & stand to remove any escaped sorb-4... :D

The strainer can be easily remove to change the cotton... The concept is exactly the same as tea leaves strainer place into a tea cup.. :idea:

Looks better than what i had expected it to be... :D

Remenber to monitor the magnesium level occasionlly as the mangroves take Mg as they exclude sodium from the plant cells

Main dispaly tank will remote refugium, DSB, Schuran skimmer & Artica chiller...

I'm planning to buy similar skimz FR also :lol:

I think even the tank maker who r making my sump now also the same person :lol::lol::lol:

Can see similarity in the setup... :D:D

Had wanted to do the Jaubert style sand bed in the refugium initially but the growth of the mangrove roots going to disturb the centre layer of sand.. so give up the idea :( ... but very excited that you are setting one up... we can discuss tmr over dinner.. i will get all info i have for u...

My main tank only 1inch of sand to reduce the chance of totally zero oxygen level at sand bottom where hydrogen sulfide may built up...
