Question about Pump

Hi brothers,

I have a new question about pump. Need advice again and thank you for in advance

My tank is 4ft (length) x 1.5ft (width) x 2ft (height) holding around 330 litre of water. My tank has a 6-inch wide IOS partition for my filtration media at the side of the tank.

I am seeking a suitable pump to push the water from the IOS back to the main tank. I need a pump that is strong enough to provide a good waterflow within the tank so that good amount water can benefit from the filtration.

What type of pump should I be looking at? Any good brands to recommend?

What type of specification is important when I source for the pump?

I just learnt that the waterflow of pump is determined by its specification on litre per hour (l/h).

Thus, just want to know what should be a good l/h for a 4 ft tank?

hmmz....base on the IOS....if the space for the pump is nt big enough.....can try fitting in an aquabee 5000lph..

use it solely for the return...

i recommend eheim 1260 or Aquabee 3000.

330 litres of water, to cycle 10 times in your IOS will require movement of 3300 litres of water. Here are some info for you to consider

Aquabee 3000 - 3000 litres/hr consuming 45W

Ehiem 1262 - 3400 litres/hr consuming 80W

Aquabee 5000 - 5000 litres/hr consuming 75W

Ehiem 1264 - 4500 litres/hr consuming 100W

IMHO, i think u may wan to get the aquabee 5000 as it consumes less power but moves more volume of water. Can split the return pipe to 2 so u get more distributed water flow instead of a concentrated strong jet of water.
