need help to id this

hi just bought a white xenia... looking for the pumping kind... not sure is this the one...? how to see which kind is the pumping kind and which one is not the pumping kind....

xenias may be pumping for a while then stop pumping for no apparent reason... but they will still grow normally. gt something to do with ph. too low and it wont pump IMO

Most Xenias will pump when they are happy with the environment. Reefers will see Xenias stop pumping at times when conditions deteriorate and start pumping again when they want to.

Xenias can sometimes be unhealthy and you never see they pump.

o.. so in theory xenias all will pump.. just the condition of the water that is the main factor..>?

xenia itself pump because they release waste and absorb nutrients as its mouth is also its anus. interesthingly to note.

idoine shows significant result to allow xenia to pump. the pumping is also needed when water flow is there

frm my own observations, my xenias increase pump rate when lights come on ... all other variables being equal...

They prefer more towards the high side of flow rate, but not so high also. Just a bit higher that normal flow. But definitely out of direct flows. Btw where you got the xenias? I want to increase my xenias population.

just beware that xenia will die suddenly without any trace. check for strong ammonia smell in the water
