Return Pump

Hi,

Will be upgrading to a 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 ft tank. Need advise on how to calculate the flow rate to have for 2 x return pump. Is it better to keep it in/out sump.

Mate, you need to ask your tank maker to calculate for you. The last compartment muz hold enough water, which means that ur return pumps can't be so powerful tt the water been pumped up is much faster than the water flowing down.

i suggest using out-sump pumps such as eheim.

Thanks Bro for the info. Spoke to 2 tank maker and both gave me diff ans... one suggested 2 x 3000l return pump and the other suggested 2 x 5000l return pump so I am abit confused.

My sump would probably be 3.5 x 2 x 2

Get Eheim 1262 x 2

Its about $240, so total $480.

Aquabee 3000 might not be powerful enough.
