Over the course of 2 weeks, 4x chromis, 1x Algae Blenny, 1x Blue Spiny Lobster gone.

Others like maroon clown, BT, YT, Anthias all ok.

All water parameters ok, if not 2x cleaner shrimps and blood shrimp will be the first to go.

At night have been hearing clicking sounds, and saw something like a worm or whatever in a hole feeding on the carcass of algae blenny. It has a suction-like mouth with a few feelers.. like the monster in the korean movie The Host.

could it be the cause for the deaths?

if not then what?

try a sixline .. it might help...its small but not afraid of such pests ...

Already have a sixline..

but what's so weird is that the deaths just came recently.. and spiny blue lobster also lost to that bugger?!?!

if u knoe which rock its in and there is no corals or anything that is valuable to u on it, soak it in freshwater  kaisu abit soak it for 24 hours.. watz ever it in will definately crawl out or die in it

it's a large base rock so this solution is definitely impossible

6line makan mantis? nv hear b4..

freshwater dun really works imo..

try to attacking it with hot water.. or sun it for few days..

mantis are hard pest.. unless u got big triggers that will eat them but better to destroy them yourself

it's inside a hole in a large base rock, can removing the rock will be as good as rescaping the whole tank. any solutions to trap and remove the mantis?

maybe .. notice that all the fishes it had killed are relatively smaller than those it didnt touch. as for the lobster, it might have wondered to close and got wacked ! however, if its a brittle worm, the lobster has claws can i am sure it can fight it off..

ok, whatever it is, anyone has any idea how to trap and remove it?

the problem is tat it managed to kill a lobster.. which is very worrying for the danger is pose to my fishes at night when they sleep

observe your tank after light off with a torch, and you may see the worm crawling in and out looking for pray, then try to cut it with a knife or use a tweezer to nip it out. they are vry alert, you must be fast to cath them. if it is mantis, you should able to hear some noise like the cracking of the glass.. some bro here manage to set trap and get them, maybe be those bro can share..

good luck..

put a brand's essence chicken bottle in front of the hole and put some bait inside .. like catching crabs .. if you can use a guide channel even better .. put the mouth of the guide near the hole .. let the aroma float into the hole . and watch it crawl into the brand's bottle .. obviously it takes a while :P
