SRC Member johntanjm Posted December 3, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2006 ya I miss my planted tank with all the bubbleing effect... I personally don't like BB as they appers unnature to me... You can try add in 2 packs of live sands & grow some carpet forming marcoalgaes like a lagoon concept. I'm very excited to know more algae loving reefer I've always thought that green looks wierd in a marine environement but i saw some pictures, can actually make the thing alot more vibrant. if you use MH, i think ur macro will bubble like crazy and thats actually quite ugly. I think bubbles look nice only on a Riccia bed! oooooooooh! my favourite! hey where u get ur macro algae ah? the green ones. some shops selling one TINY piece at $8 i think thats quite crazy. SRC Member johntanjm Posted December 5, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted December 5, 2006 yeah bro Y, the fish will nip everything of esp if tangs. somehow i feel that the switch from planted to marine is a one way thing. much as I love planted tanks, no matter how hard i try to imagine, i cannot see myself going back to it. Hey ask you all ah, i just observed this strange thing. my rock is encrusted with coraline. then suddenly overnight there's one thick line of white just cut right across. its really white white kinda white. bleaching? what could have caused it? PS: sory for no pix lately. all the cameras in the house on overseas deployment. haha! aunty go holiday take the D20, sister go work take my lumix. This may sounds crazy... how about a coralline algae munching worm? Munching as it moves hence the straight white line... and this worm is kinda huge hence the "thick" line Quote Tank 60x40x40 Optiwhite Glass Tank Sump Elos 500 w/ Tunze Overflow Protein Skimmer Skimz Kone SK1 Return Pump Hydor Seltz L30 Wavemaker Hydor K1 Illumination 150W + 2 T5 Chiller Arctica 1/5hp w/ Aquabee 1000 Water Top-up Tunze Osmolator Dosing Pumps Grotech 3-Channels Calcium Reactor Deltec PF 501 Computer Aquatronica

SRC Member johntanjm Posted December 5, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted December 5, 2006 and there's more! don't u love those sunnies. when i got them they were almost thin to the bones. after feeding they've fattened up a little. I don't know whats with the white line man. apparently on closer inspection, its not just one part. quite a few rocks got that. its been a while redi. Just that some white parts got new coraline grow over. the major ones, still white Quote --------------------------------------------- The Deep Blue Sea in My HDB! http://myfishyroomates.blogspot.com
