mixing kalk with water

I tried to mix kalk with fresh water but the resulting solution is not clear?

is this alright?

I then dripped this solution into the tank overnight and see some small white particles left at the bottom of the container in the morning. Does this mean that I did not completelly dissolve the kalk?

What is the best way to prepare the kalk solution?

Kalk will not completely dissolve usually. you can make more of it dissolve by adding some vinegar in water.

but then you really want the kalk to presipitate any other impurities like phosphates

and other metals out of the tap water.

just drip the clear solution in and throw the residue away its better.

The way I mix....

1. Add kalkwasser to water

2. Stir

3. Wait 1 hour for particles to settle to the bottom

4. Drip
