s*p%rs^ar at downtown east

Recommended Posts

todae i got to s*p%rs^ar aquarium at downtown east. let me share with you my experience. once i got into the shop, i was amazed by the number of items they are selling.(got a little excited) but when i went to view their lifestock, a nasty odour drifted past me and i knew this was bad. most of the fishes there are sick with diseases and the LR looks more dead.and while browsing a shelp next to the tanks, i noticed a RAT scamper off behind the shelf!!!!!! next, i picked up a bottle of invertibrate food and noticed that there is alot of dust and the label looks like its been drenched in water. the owner guy didnt even come to service me and pretemded as if i am invisible. hope you all will not get this bad experience after reading this passage.

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

I got most of the dry stock from them since I started this hobby 1 yr ago... not really that bad... just a bit salesman type

btw, isn't leaving you alone a better shopping experience? :P

now that is dependent on whether I seriously need help or not. then again, I'd prefer it if the shopowner/helper actually comes up to say hello or something. feels nicer for me, and I feel more obliged to buy something from him/her/them. :P

just my two cents worth

I've visited the old shop at Elias mall and found them quite OK but I haven't been to the Downtown one.

they are quite tao. but u approach to talk to the "boss" I suppose.

(saw his pic on the papers one) he's quite alright. but after awhile

notice u just asking ard, he went to service other customers.

I was keen to ask him abt his clams n bubble he have there.

been to this place a couple of times. never had any bad experience. the guy mending the shop looks like a friendly chap to me. spoken to him a couple of times when i was there. once i bought a blue sub light & test it there but upon reaching home the light doesn't seem to work. went back to the shop abt 1 week time & told him abt the light & he told me to bring it back & he'll replaced a new set for me. :)

I've bought some drygoods from them (won't touch their LS though). The boss is friendly and helpful - no problems there. A couple of times, I had problems with products purchased from them (not product defects) and they willingly helped me to solve the problem (unlike some other more popular LFS).

And I prefer sales people to stay away from me until I have a question or need help - whether I'm buying fish, car or a house.

yes their dry goods are fine. But their livestock is quite ridiculously overpriced when other places like the farms sell so much cheaper.

and i agree with fishfreak that shop workers who tail you around the shop and continually pester you are a real nuisance.

:o

The guy u all r refering to at downtown east is not actually the "boss". He's the brother of the boss and they hv another shop(small one though) at blk 476 in Tampines. The guy at the Tampines shop is much nicer and much more well versed than the one at downtown east.

Anyway......to each, his own. But I find them quite friendly though. :P
