regarding star polyps

hey bros and sis. do anyone knoe how long does star polyps take to open up ? i got minfd this after .. until now it hasnt open any idea how long before they will permantly stay closed ?

Mine opened after a few hours. They prefer good current flow and good lightning according to liveaquaria.com. Put them near the top closer to the light. That might help.

oh man .... mine is one quite a hube piece of rock so its at the bottom of the tank now ... still closed.. not even one polyp is open

mine opened within a few hours after introducing into the tank. It needs good flow. How's ur water parameters?

i haven got the test kits for the rest .. i think the fastest i can get them are 2 weeks later ... exams round the corner

Iput mine on my sandbed... height of tank is 2.5ft... it blooms... after 2 hrs... but i am using MH lights... guess the light is more impt... and water parameter.

i am using NO T5 4 X 39.. my tank is 1.5ft high.. i already placed it at the top near the surface. guess its the water paramteters

Please make sure that no algae growth on them and undetectable phosphate level.

there are definately no aglae on them.. i already took it out the polyps are most probably dead by now.

Light,water perimeters and water flow all are important. U might wanna try shift ur stars near to the wavemaker.

Wat wavemaker and return pump u using? I've got friends who place the stars quite near to the tunze wavemaker and the stars loved it. Over prolong periods, they start to grow even longer and hairy tentacles.

Stars are a bit weird. some open within a few hours frame while took longer period, like a few days to a few weeks

Anyway here, did anyone come across blue star poly?

mine open 2 hours later when i bought them home...

i placed it near the light and the wave maker...

i was scared it dun wanna open... but lucky... need patience...

mine took a week to open. :)

at first i also thought it was dead, but then i had them movedfrom bottom of the tank to the top. and they opened within the next few hours!
