Aquatechnic tanks can be braceless but they cost a bomb!

you can actually build one urself, if you can get the correct glass thickness!!i have an old aquatechnic 4 X 2.5 X 2.5!! it is braceless, but the glass is 19mm thick!!!!gosh took 6 blanga to carry and they almost died!..from 4-6ft i think they use 19mm glass..above that, they actually attached a 316 stainless steel sleeve to the top as reinforcement!

without euro or cross bracing, the tank looked elegant and neat..but new problems are introduced!!..the water spills easily over the top and u'll have a fine time wiping the saltwater stained glass front as well as the back!! some fish might also "hop" over to commit sucide! ! happen quite a few times to my tank as the water level is quite high!

Agree with Alvy... love the look of braceless tanks.. but thick glass distorts a lot when viewed sideways and affects viewing the true colours of your tank inhabitants.

I prefer euro-bracing for its strengthening purpose and that it also prevents water from going over the sides easily, especially when landscaping!

I wanted a braceless tank too for my 5 footer... but it is either too costly or no tank makers want to do it... claims too risky...

The tank maker who made my tank suggest that I enough employ centre bracing with euro.... for Safety reasons...... ;)

Well, Think safety is really important... imagine a tank full of saltwater giving way......:blink::blink: .......
