help..water not clear

Dear reefers out there,

do really need advise from u all.my water is not clear.it is filled with tiny particles circulating in the tankfyi,I dun have a sandbed.what should i do now??below are my tank spec.-

24x18x24 ft tank

sump tank filled with bio balls.

chiller

return pump hailea 6540 2880ltr attached to return pipe n

to skimmer weipro 2011

24watts x 4 tubes t5 light

36 watts blue pl light

overflow tank on main tank filled with bioballsazoo ozonizer.

ls in the main tank

-10-15kg of lr

3 common clown

1 bt

1 flame goby

1 bicolour goby...common one(pink /yellow)

1 feather duster tube

2 white tube

1 plate

7 assorted buttons

1 starfish

2 hermit crabs

2 camelback shrimps

1 fire aka blood shrimp

1 skunk shrimp

initially i have a sandbed but it had turn to yellowish bed and when i asked some lfs they infd that it is best not to put sand in the tank.ALSO i noticed some lfs with no sand on their display tanks......

i also had turn my return pump to the fullest.

would really appreciate ur kind advise and xpertise in this matter.thanks

how long hav u run the tank?.....cos i realise that u hav quite a number of LS...maybe u haven complete the full cycle?...and yes..for a small tank....Bare Bottom is probably the best option..

is it a new tank?... :lol:

the small particles may be microbubbles frm yr skimmer... maybe u can chk that

Main Tank : 48 inch by 36 inch by 28 inch (2 sides starphire glass)
Sump Tank :
Return Pump :
Chiller : Starmax Compressor 1 HP Drop coil
Chiller Return Pump
Protein Skimmer :
Wave Maker :

it could be that the cause of the tiny particles are actually micro bubbles from your skimmer being introduced into your tank via the return pump

you could try to filter the outflow from your skimmer using a filter bag

so the bubbles will dissapate

or line your return pump with sponge material, so that it does not suck anymore bubbles, if in fact micro bubbles is the cause. No harm trying !!

;) yap bro..just after a month.my recent water parameter as follows-

Nitrite(no2) Nitrate(no3) Ph Salinity Kh Temp

0.1 5 8 0.1025 1.74 27o

so far my ls doing fine.fyi,there are waste n some fine sand settling down at the base thus making the base more ugly.should i add back the fine sand(mixture 0 n 1 grade) into the tank??thanks

it is common to hav the sand particles when u are using the barebottom..jus siphon it up during ur water change...
