keeping scallop

i wanna seep a few scallop.. maybe in the sump.. heard that they suck up nitrate ? correct me if i am wrong. anything to take note of ? like lighting feeding.. water parameters .. water temperature .. feeding ..

would appreciate any inputs

i thought they are like most invertebrates not too like high nirate, suck up nitrate that is something new i have heard of.i personally find it troublesome as it need to feed in using a straw to shoot pyton in them or marinesnow

ya u can also jus pour in cos they take in water and food but if u do that i flet like wasted as jus pour in the water.

i think scallop do not help in nitrate reduction ... to a certain extent clams may help in that area

phyto is ok for me cause i dose it in my tank sometime or another .. and i live near T95 so its pretty easy for me to get my supplies

my flame scallops became food for hermit crabs... since then no more big hermits for me
