Recommendation for Power Heads

Any recommendation for Power Head that is low in wattage & reliable beside tunze.. For a 3ft tank use..

Oh best would be 600Liters to 700Liters.. Small in size would be great

Yup. very versatile too. Can suction by its sides or back too. Can get cheap for you. Pm me. I think it's either 4W or 6W. Sorry...I threw away the box liao...

Well, I have a number of phs and I say so far maxijets are considerably one of the best.

Not saying its not a good powerhead, but i am using several 2000-3000 l/hr powerheads that meet most if not all of those specs. Prices are around $25.

I guess that the Maxijet is made in Asia along with most of the others, just seems to be selling at "European prices"

Bought one Maxijet 1200 last week. It looks solid and small. It is by the same manufacturer as Instanct Ocean salt. You can get one below $60. SRC sponsor EA* and Reb**n selling cheapest I found.

I think difficult to compare the size with picture, somemore it is in one corner of my tank. The main body is about 2.5 inch cube. If you visit Reb**n, can take a look on the shelves. The look, the accessories, the manual has quality written over it. Actual usage not sure, I started use for few days only.

Ehiem has a very high power consumption...

Like aquabee alot......high flowrate and low wattage!

anyone know where to get iwaki pumps. nvr see one in anyLFS...

also anyone usiing them ...are they good...tot that the wattage is alos lower than Ehiem!

How come there are so many air bubbles sticking at the bottom of your ph? Mine doesn't leh and has been functioning well...

Since surface skimmer is to break down the surface dirt, the protein skimmer and my filter will then do their job rite?

Ya. The idea is to get the dirt out from the surface so that the skimmer and filter can remove them. Dun know if its useful tot. Just an idea.

hmmm.. interesting but u'll sort of be 'dirtying' the water.. the oil film and stuff are already at the top and not mixing with the water but you're taking it and putting it back in the water.. it won't be that efficient IMO.. there might be others who tried it though.. see what other people say

Hmm I really have no idea. But this always happens whenever I put a new piece of equipment into the tank. The PH is still functioning great

surface skimmer doesn't break it down, it merely skims or sucks off the top layer of water with the floating debris to go with it. if you attach it to PH, you'll be dirtying your tank water by blasting the debris to circulate in the tank, of which not all will be sucked in to your filter and protein skimmer. I think more efficient to attach surface skimmer to your filter?
