Live Sand

Hi,

I was thinking of purchasing the Natures Ocean live sand for my nano tank. I currently have fine coral sand(very thin layer) as a sandbed.

Would it be fine if i just placed the live sand over the existing one?

Do you rinse the live sand with tap water before you place it in the tank?

I dont intend to have a DSB, so the remainder i intend to place in the sump, is this advisable?

* Currently nothing is in the tank except for my live rocks

no problems using sand on top of coral sand

do not touch your live rocks or live sand with tap water

it contains chlorine

all the bacteria in the sand will die, then no point buying live sand

if you want to wash then wash with your water change water, about to be thrown away

why do you want to place sand in your sump ? i do not see any benefits, besides having a bit more biological filter, moreover your pumps may experience problems with the sand.

buy the right amount of sand so that you need not clutter your sump further

you can get sand(not live) from C328 is it cheap at $3.20 per 2-3 kg i figure

2 packs should be enough for your nano tank.

Bro if you want to use Nature's Ocean Live Aragonite... can do a review on that product? I originally wanted to use it for my pico tank (didn't happen) and some reefers are interested to buy the remaining... so maybe post at Pasar Malam, secure a buyer (or two), then call them up with the remaining lor

I got a feeling this is a great product... trust me... I can tell when it comes to Quality
