Anyone can post some pics on the steps to propagate mushrooms? Thanks

Just finished editing some pics I got from the mushroom coral propagation session.

I do not have all the right notes..I will allow Ming to add on the comments, now he is not so nervous....keke...

I will post 3 pics:

1) propagating ricordea florida

2) propagating a discosoma mushroom

3) Ming selecting from specimen from his tanks....(note...Ming has requested me to keep his handsome looks from the ladies...) no choice liaoz..so got to be a little creative:ph34r: :lol:

I dun see him today at all..I'm sure he will have regretted to let me decide..I almost wanted to use one of the powerpuff girls... :lol:

anway...I dun have a lot of the info to share like Ming...hope he can log in soon to provide more details on the fragging procedures... :lol:

One last question. you mentioned to place small rock chips into a plastic container with holes. how do you actually get the rock chips?

sorry...I thought U got it, bro... wat I did was I usually end up with big pieces of LR with just some yumas on it, so I used a hammer and a screw driver to break the LR...the smaller ones I keep in my Qtank ...just for reattaching mushrooms tat moved.... you also will have spare rocks when your mushies move house or die off.... hope that helps :lol:

According to Ming...the mouth will be cut up...but mushrooms under right condition will recover quickly....it will first form back a rounded shape..then it will attach itself to a small rock.....then it the mouth will slowly appear...amazing right?

Hi , Thank deepblue for the effort to do the editing ..

1st , all mushrooms would spend about 1week to recover from the wound cause by ur pen knife slice..

2nd , they would all form new mouth and into a circular shape..

After u notice a new growth in mouth u can start placing 1 small rock below it as itis went they would start to attach on it ..

Reason why i would strongly advise u to place only 1 small rock would be there is a chance of ur mushroom behind cover under multiply rock and that is went they would melt away..

U could use grade 4 or 5 coral chips for small rock , and than once itis attach to it u could use "super glue GEL" to glue it to ur main LR ..

Try to slice the mushroom facing down as this would prevent the mushroom from shrinking in size...

Extra dosing of iodine would aid in prevent slime build up and enhance colour growth .

Deepblue if u could post a pic of the fragging tools that was given out on that day would give other reefers a better idea...

i dont understand ...

If u want to frag/cut into 2 new mushrooms from 1 of course u got to slice them up into pieces..

If u just slice them at the side , the mushrooms will just spend more time healing up and not grow in size..

People will have the idea that by making a slice at the edge of the mushroom would acctually promot more growth or it look bigger.. But i have tried that method and measured.. No increase in size..

Feed them if u wan good colour and growth ...

      Hey everyone, I've a set of many things to sell off as one set. The following are in this set: 1. Long fish tank, 90x30x30 - beautiful glass, well taken care of, no scratches 2. Standard fish tank, 60x45x45 - beautiful glass, as you can see, still with bottom and top cardboard covers. 3. Metal stand for the long tank - rusted by strong. Usable. Please note the width of this stand is 50, and the long tank's width is 30, so there's around 15 cm space. 4. Nano tank, well taken care of. Beautiful glass. (The gadgets in there all taken out, so just tank with it's back sump. 5. A baby tank 6. A bunch of stuff: - Tidal 35, Seachem filter - two oxygen pumps - plastic fish tank protein skimmer - portable fan - large wavemaker - 90x45 nice tank background poster - mini filters Basically what's in there + take. In the photos below, I've saved some pictures from when I purchaser them. These were all used for marine/saltwater fish - if you want to convert to others; simply wash (that's why I got these tanks, flexibility). I've used them for a year or less. Selling since these are in my office, and we have settled on one custom size. And we may be moving. Need to send these off. Would prefer someone to take everything, clear everything. Only $220 for everything. If I see anything else I don't want laying around, I'll also pass to you. Self-collection/self pick up. Location: Indus Road, ground floor.
