from the front. as you can see, there is 2 outlet one on each side, and on the left there is a pvc Y outlet which steve specially made for me. and at the bottom is a spray bar to keep my back tank clean.

Interesting spray bar concept... was it in the original design or add-on at later stage?

actually was in my tank to clean it not just to take pic.

Haha... lucky you clarify... I thought you so vain leh... cover here cover there some more :lol::lol:

How do you find the Live Aragonite (from AM)? Huge investment leh... I am still considering whether to use or not as I probably need 5 to 6 bags ;) That's $300 go to the floor bed :(

very convienent. dont have to wash. as for effect have to wait and see already. well 3 pack of it is able to cover 1 inch of my sandbed. maybe you can seed it for the normal sands.

That is what I'm planning to do actually... 2" of Grade 2 to 3 sand... then get 1 bag of Live Aragonite and sprinkle on top... just a thin layer to "seed" them... you think 1 bag is enough to cover a thin layer based on a 4' by 3' footprint?

if you are going for the coarse type. it will not be enought. better to with 2 bag of fine one. the coarse type 1 pack isnt enought to cover my 3x2. my main reason of getting live sand is as there is much lesser silicate then normal sand.

Oh really?!? And Silicate causes algae problem right? Wow... if that's the case... perhaps the $300 is well justified... I originally thought the Live Aragonite is only good for speeding up bacteria cultivation (and no need to wash those sand... very tideous work):lol::lol:

actually i heard from one of the bro, there is some substance that can get rid of silicate from the sands. 1 bottle seem to be 50+ but i cant really remember the name of it.

Emm... dun wan to use chemical... just like Western medicine... they cure a problem but at the same time they create another problem :lol::lol: Go Natural... just like you

I tried out the seeding method using the Live Aragonite with normal grade 0 sand on my 2ft. From what I observe, it does speeds up the cycling quite abit but the down side is.... ALGAE... think its most likely due to the silicate in the normal sand. took me quite a while to get the algae growth under control. So spending 300 bucks for the seabed? I think if you can afford it, y not? saves a whole bunch of effort of clearing alage later.

Emm... so fast 0 0 5? Those LR are from another matured tank? The Live Aragonite really so amazing? Hahaha... I know... it's hard to resist the temptation of adding your first fish... it happens all the time :D
