Shrimps are ok but not fishes

Recommended Posts

Hi guys...........

Just put in 5 more shrimps into m 3 feet & have total of

5x cleaner & 5x fire shrimp.

All shrimps are doing fine so far but 1 royal gamma & 1 fire gobies & 1 sand gobies had died in less than a wk after added into tank.

Just wonder why fishes died so easily maybe.........

I did not acclimatise them properly whereby I dripped my shrimps for almost half hour before putting into tank.

Or..............

Could it be my shrimps attack the fishes as my fishes are all quite similar size as

my shrimps???

My water parameter seems to be fine as coraline started to grow just after more than 2 months.

Wonder why???

Anyone care to share more...............

Regards.

Confusing....nice tank I must say...

If I were you I would try getting the fishes from another source. The main thing about keeping fishes alive is to get healthy specimens...don't get any with shallow tummies..or with any scars or torn fins..or those that are breathing heavily..sure signs of problems..

Always something more important than fish.

Thks for the replies , friends............

My shrimps/ mushrooms/polyps are all doing fine.........

Coming back to the fishes ,I read from a book that hermit crabs will kill fishes,

wonder how true is it?

If that's the case , I've some halloween hermit crabs...........could they be the

'killer'?

Still wondering????????????

wouldnt trust any hermit crab after reading an article posted in SRc tt says tt hermit are no longer reef safe.

Not all hermits are not 100% reefsafe.

Only a few species are alright and you have to get them as tiny as possible, IMO.

Shrimps are a nuisance

especially when you try to feed your coral with meats

They will come and snatch away the meat
