Hi guys ,

any one of you experience in keeping angels... Are they a sensitive lot of fish..... Any particular diet or conditions ???? kept once but not quite successful ;(

angels , are a neat species and once they get feeding on all foods they're extremely hardy! :D But if you have a reef tank then theres a possibility of them nipping on your corals. What angels are you looking at by the way? :D From my experience , they're alot more tougher then the tangs. ;)

Tougher in the sense of not contracting diseases then tangs are. ;) I had a breakout of ich but non of my angels showed signs of it. :D Even when there was another breakout of "pop eye" they survived that too but it transfered very easily to the next tang. :( Just give them the varied diet they require and they will survive a long time to come. I don't know but the AZOO "inmmunity" pellets I gave them seem to have an effect at seems. Even my tangs had ich but it wasn't to an extent. Whenever I bring the bottle up to feed them they go in a frenzy!

I have tried Emperor Juvenile and Bicolour not very successful they will initially nip at LR but couple of days they just died ???

never had a problem with emperor though :D but biocolor lives off living rock and is supceptable to ich! ;) before putting them into your reef , train them in a separate tank and I'm sure you'll have success there :D or get a fish thats feeding so the hard to eat angels will follow. :)

Seem like nobody mention that angels require good quality water.

They are very senstive so not really advisable for the newbie who does not know how to maintain a stable enviroment.

They are also very territorial....more so for the large angels.

Some angel are specialize feeder and is diffcuilt to get it to start feeding on commercial prepare food.....but once you manage to get them to eat...they are like pigs.

The are also aggressive and will usually attack new comer to the tank.
