MH without chiller

wondering if it's possible to keep the temp low enuff (28+-) by cooling fan with a 150W MH ?

High Risk of water evaporation may occur and you will need a very strong fan to bring the temp + room condition.

I use a 6500K for my Planted tank w/o chiller on a 2.5ft tank setup. My tank was place in my study room. 2 x Profantec Fan running thru when my MH kick in at 7pm+

Temp at 27 degree when i do my work with aircon switch on around 8pm++

I tried that initially but it's very difficult to maintain the tank temp using cooling fan and the room temp/ ambient have a great impact on the tank temp. Furthermore, the evaporation rate is very high too! I need to top-up at least 10l of water everyday! If u r keeping oni fishes, then still can!

It's better to have a chiller!

I tried that b4 & u really need at least 3 fans to cool the temp to between 28-30C,not to mention I top up at least 12L of fw everyday

I gave up using MH after that....better to have a chiller

its nt a long term solution bro....a chillier will save u alot of work...n u can go for a holidae w/o the worry of evaporated water..
