Hi all reefer,

Sori off topic a little while, can someone enlightene me how do eliminate or reduce the water draining noise created by overflow box down to sump?

maybe can use bioballs to silence the splashing sound. Anyway, u posted in the wrong sub-forum.

is it the gurshing noise at the base of pipe into the sump or the trickling sound at the top of the overflow?

add some bioballs then on top place a layer sponge. Bioballs reduces the noise. Sponge on top buffers the noise.

I also have such noise for my builtin overflow. Thats what I'm doing now.

Thanks for valiable advised. thus have already done with bioball and sponge but does'nt help looks like have to go back to used the lower flow rate pump liao.

adjust flow rate such that the overflow box hv enough water inside.. ie slow down the flow into sump... i had the same prob but i didnt want to use bio balls ... if after u do this , u find that the water in the last compartment of sump too low, then u hv to raise the durso pipe slightly higher

u can eliminate the noise by using durso pipe..
