bro ferrari, if i put aside the price of the skimmers. Here are my choices (not in order):

1) Bubble King-300 external

2) Deltec 702 or 902

Deltec1004 is definately gonna skim a lot, but not so practical for a 6 footer like mine. You are right that most manufacturers do over-rate their skimmers to a certain extent, best is buy one model higher than recommended.

Anyway denitrator coming in a couple of days. This will not remove the Nitrate completely, but at least ease e pressure on the skimmer a little.

I'm sure you're aware that a denitartor would take a while to be fully efficient.... surely that wun help you for the time being?? so are you removing the fishes for their sake??

Take a chill pill man. . each to his own. A BK-400 is approximately $4000 by the time it shipped out from Germany and to your door step.

A BK-300 is a better alternative cuz its only about $2700.

Jervis: lets put the skimmer issue aside till my next skimmer arrives.

Anyway each to his own, to put it bluntly, if some reefer decides to put 100 fishes into a 2 footer, i will not judge him but hope he understands what he's doing.

oh ya, i feed the fishes with 4-8 cubes of mysis/brine shrimps daily and New Spectrum pellets at intervals.

The Tunze Osmolator is very reliable... good choice :)

Oh yeah Santa Claus... just that you have to pay for it yourself... more like waiting for a DHL delivery to me :lol::lol::lol:

Luckily you go for the Sulphur based denitrator... it will get "up-and-running" much faster compared to a Bioballs based denitrator. But be careful with it... the last thing you want is your beautiful fishes to perish due to high sulphur in the water.

lyz77: yes that's the problem with using a fan instead of a chiller, high evaporation rate.
