SRC Member beaver Posted July 9, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted July 9, 2006 Hi Reefers, Just wanna find out what are some methods that reefers out there employ to acclimitise their newly acquired LS. I usually float the bags for at least half hour and thereafter drip 1 pail of tank water over a period of 2.5 hours (also take this as a water change). So far, no casualty and LS looks happy! SRC Member Bob Posted July 9, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted July 9, 2006 Me too , Leave the LS bag in my sump floating for about 30mins. But only mix my tank water into the bag by pouring slowly (about a min or two) about 1/4 -1/2 of the amount is in. so far so good. Had once just dump a sps frag without acclimtise. The next day it RTN away...
KingFish
Don't forget light acclimitisation for fishes as most are not used to the high lighting of a typical tank. Release after lights out.
