Add algae??!!! how do you do that??? btw you can add LS now. it will help to buffer the water and the microbacteria deep inside LS can help to speed up your cycling process.

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

Please do not add any livestock during the cycling process. That is an extremely cruel way to cycle your tank, the livestock will be subjected to extreme stress and may not survive the ordeal. Adding a shelled market prawn will kick start the cycle. The macro algae should only be added after the cycling process is done. You may add livestock once your NH3,NO2 are 0.Please read up more on the nitrogen cycle.

I believe you can put in the Live Rock LR and not Live stock LS.... In fact when you first setup your tank, you should put in all the LR so that it can help kick start the cycling.

As for LS, you should wait till Ammonia and Nitrite be zero, and Nitrate start to fall, then do a change of the water and then start to add fish or corals at a very very slow rate. Would recomend 1 of each per week or 2 weeks. The reason is that you would want your system to able to handle the additional load slowly...

actually its like this

put in market prawn in your bare tank inside should only have your deep sand bed..

after 3 months go test your water to see if its stable let the market prawn rot so that it will help to stable your ammonia then to no2 then no3 i will on my skimmer after 3 months..

then add in liverocks and scape it..

then slownly stock up.. not too much gradually and slowly..

important is to test your water always..

I prefer no prawns....I am not sure...I was wondering if I acquire a not so completely cured LR from CF...throws in together with the cured ones.... it will help kickstart the cycling liaos..(but that's my theory....)
