oh..sorry to hear that.. let by gones by gone and start a fresh! time to stock up ya?:lol:

No... fix the pH problem first... fish/coral replacement is a very expensive way of maintaining the hobby :pinch:

oh yah, sorry for that! anyway how to fix that prob ar?

The problem is very hard to fix (for some tanks)... proper cycling and maturing will definitely help... to be honest, my current tank is facing quite a fluctuation also... that's why I don't dare to introduce sensitive fishes and SPS, surely "cannot make it".

Having a large enough refugium with alternate lighting period can close the gap. That is what I will be doing for my new project, Phase II.

No lah the refugium will not take a lot of "fire power"... just sufficient to grow some macro algae... fluctuation between 7.7 to 8.3 daily (for example) is considered quite damaging to the LS... mine is at a worrying level too :( But of course a lot of reefers don't really "stress" on this daily fluctuation thingy :nc:

I have this problem for a very long time already coz nothing escapes Aquatronica... it's scary to see the fluctuations in the graph... but I can't seem to get it to stabilize... my kH has been pretty stable lately but the fluctuation persists... will share with you guys my latest graph tonight. Building a large enough Refugium is a good method... large enough hor, not a small compartment in the sump filled with Chaeto

Bro RedDevil, you running a large refugium behind your sump right? Mind showing us a pix? Now how come you still have pH fluctuation problem?

can house my trigger there? i will collect it back like erm erm erm erm erm.. untill the construct of my next tank?

Haha... can also keep my SixLine there?

Bro RedDevil, why not turn it into a full scale refugium with deep sand bed? I know there are pros and cons... but if you know what'st the right components... it will work well... normal sand for example is a no-no :heh:

The tank width is actually quite small, its the length and the height that is tall.. no idea what to do with it yet, wait till my friend bring his fishes back than i see what i can do,now the ph swing in my tank damn jialet base on the ich appearing on my AT at night and non in the day time sigh~ :(

You wanna try plenum or DSB? I am incorporating either one into a section within my sump also. Will use Nature's Ocean Live Sand (6" to 8")... but Steve recommend me Plenum instead of just DSB. That I believe will help stabilize a lot of parameters and a great way to remove NO3.

Sounds workable... you let me experiment first lah... I will be getting my sump (and piping fixed) this Friday. Will start to fill water this Saturday. Will start on the Plenum or DSB beginning of next week

ok muz update me hor hehe thanks bro. :)

Of course I will share with you... just drop by my office once the sump is up and running lor... but you must also calculate how may bags of Live Sand you require to fill up your chamber as they can get quite costly ;) But hey... this is the crucial part of the filtration system that will make the difference... so no point trying to save some $$$ here :P
