keepin different clowns

can i put 1 maroon clown, 1 tomato clown and some common clown together in a tank? will they fight? suitable?? my tank is onli 2ft FOWLR....

i heard from many that is not advisable....but anyone keep b4 different clowns together??

well actually not sure .. But i kept 3 False perc / 1 skunk and 1 clarkii together some chasing but all still alive

i heard morron can be quite aggressive and many has said to have only one maroon per tank unless your tank is super big then is anyother story.

i have 2 tomato n clarkii clown but they seems to be alrite....

tomatoes r quite aggressive too..they do bully those smaller than them....i once use to have a tomato,a clarkii n a maroon...the smaller maroon was totally terrorised by the 2 bullies...

Clown fish are damselfish which is generally aggressive even to their own. If you do not have enough swimming space, I'll suggest keeping a pair else the chances of the 3rd fish been targeted is vey high.

Good info jc85, I see good advice coming back again.

Not many people know that clownfishes and damselfishes belong to the same family of Pomacentridae.

Most juveniles from this family can be kept together until they mature and start to pair up. When they do, they will establish their territories and defend it aggressively. Even while courting and pairing, aggression will begin to set in.

Contrary to most beliefs, adding an anemone will be counter productive by speeding up the process.

Pomacentridae community tank is a concept which has been pursued for a while with little success.

Tomato and common clown can be introduced when they are small and together an the same time.... however aggression arises when they built their own territory.

Its a No-No to Maroon... Its one hell aggressive breed.
