Mortality rate of Reef Fishes

Similar to a post sometime ago that degenerated into a slugfest ..

Main question came about when I was doing stock taking .. and :ooh::ooh: surprise surprise .. almost 80% of my fish from a single source :look::look:

And when I reflected back .. I visit all over the island for rare fish .. so I did not just buy from 1 particular LFS but everywhere ..

I have a maroon that's been with me for a year now .. thru 2 crashes .. 2 tangs for 1/2 a year .. and these are the fishes that's not bought from the LFS..

1 blenny

3 gobies

1 randalli

2 blue eyes (2 fatalities and 1 drown)

2 triggers

1 wrasse

1 angel

1 Powder blue (died before I released from betta box)

alot of crusteceans and inverts ..

I think I have the following fatalities from elsewhere

5 yashias

4 blue eyes

1 sunburst

almost 10 firefishes

almost 10 purple firefishes

3 mandarins

2 powder blue

5 dispar

5 yellownose hi fin

:shock::shock:

wow .. now tally up seems like I spent alot

And this was not counting my initial nano setup !! yikes !!

Any one else did a stock take and find similar occurences ?? Maybe our water conditions matches up thats why the higher survivability ????

anyone has equal success from most of the LFS ??

All my fish are from different LFS. I even have those that I bought from a certain LFS that pple here complaint like hell. I also have an imported angel from HK.

So far, I have alot of LS that die on me but that's because of my own stupidity (maybe also LFS fault, who knows). Anyway, I strongly believe in cycling the tank before anyone embark on the journey to keep rare and survival rate low fish like angels. I have 1 friend whom doesn't cycle his tank n was successful, bear in mind he only keep SPS n gobies with 2 dwarf angel.
