this is a type of caulerpa ..

i experienced that in my tank, and caused me to throw away the all the LR :P

they are a real nuisance. dun try to plug them, or else they will be spreading all over ur tank .

anyway bring down ur no3 n po4.

Thanks bro AM for the info... caulerpa huh?... ok they will be gone this weekend... those attached to small pieces of rock can be easily tackled... I can pull them off in a separate container... I need to clean them up coz must avoid introducing them into my new tank at all costs ;)

I am still so damn amazed by this baby Deltec... despite its small and compact size

Brand's Essence of Chicken... anyone?

24 hours worth of "2-o'clock" skimming

My Bi-colour Prata has been growing steadily reaches to a diameter of at least 6"... it's so pretty... I will definitely transfer this Prata to my new tank... will find it a nice spot :)

My Pygmy Angel (Argi) likes to hang around the Prata :P

better keep an eye on the angel .. might be drooling over the meaty poylps of ur prata ...

:o True... I almost forgot... it's still an Angel after all... :o

Will monitor it closely... but the Prata open so huge (bigger than ever)... it doesn't show any sign of distress (yet) :erm:

I'm using a Sony DSC-N1 (the only camera with a super large LCD). Here's what I usually do:

1) Clean the inner glass with a magnet cleaner (hahaha)

2) Clean the outer glass with proper cloth

3) Try to avoid flash, just normal setting (auto) too lazy to do settings. Macro all the time.

4) Shot at least 3 of the same coral/fish everytime... it's hard to get the right shot, sometimes I take more than 5!!!

5) Download to computer (Apple) and use iPhoto to do minor editing.

6) Crop photos to keep composition in focus, need high mega-pixel to be able to crop drastically

7) Increase Sharpness (my secret weapon)

8) Play a bit with contrast and blah...

Done!!!:lol::lol: Sounds kinda complicated actually... but I can do it in minutes (if not seconds) :)

oic. I also tried taking using MACRO w normal setting (auto) but just couldn't get those super zoom-in shot on the zoo that u posted...... :paiseh::shock:

Did u do that using the iPhoto editing tools?. :thanks:

Emm... there's only that much the photo editing software can help... but I always make sure the pictures are properly focus and my evenly distributed T5 lighting (without shimmering effect) makes that so much easier :)

Done with 5% water change... here's a funny shot... once I off all my pumps/powerheads, the Xenia-looking hitchiker fell (usually extending upwardswith the help of water current) and formed a patch of worms :lol::lol: And my queer Nemo loves it! ;)

Latest Nitrate reading... 2 divided by 10 (read from the side) = 0.2 mg/l

It was 2.5 mg/l on the 27th July 06... what could possibly cause the sudden reduction? My Nitratreductor 1000 has been running consistently for the past 3 months... so can't possibly be the Nitratreductor 1000.

I suspect the Deltec MCE600 is making the difference... with more efficient skimming (tuned to wet)... so much more wastes were removed even before given the chance to break down to A N N... resulting in almost undetectable Nitrate level :)

Long live efficient and powerful protein skimmer :D:D:D
