For the safety and security of yourself and others within the Pasar Malam section of this forum, please follow our rules and recommendations for sales which have been presented below. While the recommendations are optional, it will enhance the security of your transaction. The rules section must be followed.

These rules and recommendations apply to both sellers and buyers, though some are seller/buyer specific.

RULES

1. No commercial postings or sales.

2. Your description of the item must be complete and accurate. Items that are defective, even if only minor/cosmetic must be mentioned so that prospective buyers can take this into consideration. Normal wear and tear on a second hand item is to be expected, but it is better to state a defect at the time of sale.

3. The thread title must indicate what is for sale. "Coral", "For Sale", "Lelong" and "Look here!" are NOT acceptable topics. "Protein skimmer + Accessories", "Precision Marine Bullet 3" and "C3001 As New" are all acceptable titles and will draw in more offers for people who are genuinely looking for such items.

4. State your terms of payment, including payment types you will accept (cheque, cash, paypal, postal order, etc.)

5. Do not bid or comment on an item if you have no intention of purchasing the item.

6. State the terms of delivery or collection to avoid misunderstanding as it may represent increased cost.

If a seller repeatedly lists items that violate the policies described above, that seller is subject to suspension from selling or buying items through the forums.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Include some pictures of your item. This will help facilitate a sale and will help to identify any cosmetic damage that you disclose (a picture can help say "It's not as bad as it sounds!") or at least give the buyer an idea of what to expect.

2. Try to state the reason for sale as it will increase the confidence of the buyer.

3. Leaving a feedback in the thread when the sales is complete is encouraged.
