Hi Im new to marine,currently my marine tank had been cycle for 1 week liaw,so far all my LR had been cure n lots of life thing growing on them n nice colour.Tested water parameter,NO2 0.3mg\l and NO3 12.5mg\l,hv not purchase NH3,4 tested but will get it soon.I will still let it cycle for another 2-3 weeks.

Once complete cycle will get some mushroom n soft corals first,but before i get them need to chk bro here whats the requiedment for mushroom n soft coral?

Currenly my temp is below 30 constandly everyday without using fans,is the temp ok for softcorals n mushroom? For lights i purchase 2 PL lights,1 light with 2 tude 18w each with blue n white colour,is this sufficent for soft corals n mushroom?

My tank spec

2.5ftX1.5ftX1.5ft IOS top overflow tank,no sump

12kg LR

2-3inchs DSB using C0 n C1 coral sand

biological using 1kg biohome n crush corals

Mechenical using biosponge n filter wool

Chemical using chemicure

No protein skimmer for my setup

For any corals,NH3 and NO2 has to be 0,NO3 has to close to 0,0 if possible.

Thats why i hv to cycle another 2-3 weeks to made sure NH3,4 zero,NO2 zero,N03 below 10ppm before getting them n also weather my requirement able to meet them or not,if not than i will go for FOWLR :)

Btw Im not intend to get lots of corals maybe 4-5 corals n 3-5 fish due to my limit tank size

Hi,

The temp preferably must not exceed 29 degree.

U can purchase a cooling fan to lower it to between 25-27 degree esp when ur lights are on, the temp tends to go higher.

What's the wattage of ur PL lighting? 2 PL of 55w 10,000K is alrite for mushroom and soft corals.

But no not forget about the power heads for water circulation...it's very impt too :D

2-3" is hardly what I would consider deep for a DSB.

Im using 2000l\h flowrate powerhead more than enough for circulate.
