Where u get ur natural sea water

Recommended Posts

Hi, bros.

I am thinking of changing from using sythetic salts water to NSW. In your experiences, which LFS sell quality NSW?

Also, do we have to bring our container along or do their T-loan their "jelly can"?

I live in Bukit Panjang and I understand that the nearest lfs is in Farmart. So any experiences to share?

:thanks:

I bought mine from farmart - Wakai @ $2.50 per refil. The biggest container they selling cost $8 ard 30l.

Thanks for replying. Yup, the pricing is right. I went over today in the afternoon.

I also asked where the source is from and they told me it was from somewhere in Tuas. I also asked to be shown their storage tank and filter mechanism. The tank looks huge and there seems to be adequate circulation and filter. Not sure how is the quality.

How does your livestock and corals fare so far? Thanks again.

Cheers.

It was a hot day. I was there at about 3pm. Any idea where else to get the container? Wakai only have 30L white container. is it possible to get the SAF type jerry can?

saf jerry can only 18 litres <_<

iwarna water is cheap, $2 for a big container, about 35 litres, they have those big blue containers, put $4 deposit

if you buy per individual packet, it is $1 for 10 litres

since you go to lck area then can also check out lck110, the water there is cheap and uv filtered. should be $3-4 for one container about 20l

Thanks all for your reply.

I think I will try out the 30L container from Wakai since bro Dominik has been using it and so far so good.

30L is about 30kg... I will need 3! I have to change to a SUV to carry that...

An update:

I have bought the NSW from Wakai and when I check the salinity, it shows 1.017!

Seems very low!

Anyone of u encountered the same?

I won't be too surprised if I were you since the water is taken not far from the shore. It's all too natural for the seawater around Singapore to be diluted by freshwater run-off from land.

It's good that you checked the salinity.

You can adapt the tank to the NSW by changing out the tank water with NSW by 10% every week. The calcium and other ion levels will be on the low side and so will pH. It's not harmful for the inhabitants, especially fish but consider it not ideal.
