MH Bulbs.. which to use?

I'm never good at lights so can anyone tell me the difference btw MH bulbs.

How do you determine how many kelvins for your MH bulbs? I see range of 6500k to 20000k kind.

Maybe a rough guide like:

6500k: What use? What colour?

10000k: What use? What colour?

12000k: What use? What colour?

...

20000k: What use? What colour?

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

For marine... 6500ºK no need to consider... too much red/yellow... suitable for planted tank (freshwater)
