Brown Alage

Recently, there is alot of brown alage on my rock, glass and sand. I do not know what has happened !!! Can anyone help pls????

Its hard to tell what it is as there are many types of brown algae.

Sounds like diatoms...Common during the maturing of your tank...there are many algae cycles that a tank will go thru...given time and patience..they should go away..

I learnt from a webby that Cerith and Nerite snail can be used to control diatom effectively.

Someone told me PR selling Cerith while Nerite can be collected at ECP breakwaters

So may go down to PR tomorrow after knocking off. But any idea what time does PR open till?

Remember what Morgan said about Nerites...they are evil and they will try to escape. That's why you can spot them on the breakwater just above the water level.

So anyone still have the Cerith Snail to sell??
