Haha.... I think I figured out how to set the plugs on the power unit to ON/OFF continously instead of using the manual command! :P

How?

Something to share regarding the "FUNCTIONS" key on the controller.

On the manual, I believe there's a mistake regarding the type of Function available on the controller. On the manual, it show options like "TIMER", "OFF", "MANUAL" & "KEY". However, on the controller itself, you will see "TIMER", "OFF", "SWITCH" & "HOLD".

The following is just a general description of the available functions on the controller. :)

OFF - To turn off all plugs on the power unit

Timer - Allows you to set the amount of time that the program will be activated which the max should be 15 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong)

SWITCH - Turn on or off the plugs that are selected until the key is pressed again (the key must be held for 3 seconds before the program is activated).

HOLD - Activate the program if the key is pressed for more than 3 seconds, and will remain activate for as long as the key is pressed (useful for topping-up sumps or precision operations).

Probably they updated the interface during the last software/firmware update ;)

For those bros who are skeptical about the the temperature probe (since there isn't a calibration fluid or something of that nature) I used my new Arctica to test it out... result? Hehe... it's clearly shown in the pix

I just love the Aquatronica Control Unit... just a single cable... and a table top standing device... I can easily move it wherever I want to... now it's kinda warm sitting on top of the chiller... let me move my Control Unit back to my computer table

Bro Lyz77... here's how your can do it... I found 2 ways to do it via the computer... this is the first :)

Here's the second :) I think the second method is more functional as you can also have other configurations at the same time :)

For those who wonder why bro Lyz77 is using his Aquatronica to control his 24/7 equipments (such as return pump)... this is a added feature to the Aquatronica... in case of power failure... all programming will be remain stored inside the Control Unit thanks to the rechargable battery (up to 15 hours)... once the power is back on... you can choose which pumps to activate first... which one 5 minutes later... which one totally deactivate.

The above is very useful for reefers with large tank with sump... using multiple pumps

Sorry for the late update!

To set your plugs to run 24 hours, u can use the Timer Program. Take note of the following sequene as "1" have the highest precedent and can overwrite any settings! U gonna know what you want, for eg., if u use the manual command to On your top-up pump, it cannot be overwritten by your level switch program.

1. Manual switch/manual commands

2. Function Keys

3. Level switch programs

4. Temperature programs

5. pH, Density, Redox, Freshwater Conductivity

6. Power-cut

7. Wave effect

8. Tide effect

9. Timer programs

Happy Reefing!!! :)

Thanks for sharing with us bro Lyz77... yeah that's what I found out also... the manual funtion is the ultimate one where is can bypass others... so only use the manual switch/commands if you guys are confident what it's all about

Just wondering when Bros Jervismum & Lyz77 can conduct a training class for all Aquatronica members. ;)

:thanks: to both of you in advance. :D

Hahaha... you are way too generous with your kind words bro Nim75sg... as you can see... we are still discovering new things about the product... where got the confident to conduct classes... 1 year later maybe lah

If you discovered anything not mentioned by the 2 of us... please share hor... :eyebrow:

Here's my pH reading for 12pm yesterday to 12pm today... a bit worrying leh:

1) Highest pH: 8.3 (10pm)

2) Lowest pH: 7.7 (8.30am for about 3 to 4 hours)

3) pH fluctuation in a single day: 0.6

Is this acceptable? Or I need to do something about it ;)

That's the problem with information... the more you know... the more things you gotto fix

Too humble of u liao!

Btw, I manage to gather some info abt the new R&D of UPS interface for the controller next year! :yeah: There had been several query/ request regarding the connection between the controller and the UPS.

Currently, the controller is not capable to detect power failure as turning off the power unit will result in the controller be put in standby/ sleep mode till the power supply is up! Hopefully, Aquatronica will be able to complete the R&D by end of this year and all of us can expect more new modules to be roll out next year!

I think yr PH flunctuation too high liao! Mind is ard 0.2 to 0.3 diff! I think your next target shd be the CR and KS!

Oh.. I thought ususally it is due to CR which causes pH to fluctuate more ;)

Emm.... if I am not wrong... activating the CR (using CO2) at the right time can help close the gap... at least by 0.2 to 0.3 :)

Anyway... Aquatronica Italy has a very efficient and attentive sales/technical team... really appreciate their effort in replying my emails promptly :)

Just like we've discussed before. Should we run the CR only during light-on period? I run mine 24hrs, and my pH difference is about 0.3 to 0.4.

You should be able to control the pH of your water using the controller.

You should be able to control the pH of your water using the controller.

With the Aquatronica pH controller, I can activate the CO2 release via solenoid. The water thru the CR will run 24/7. The only difference is... during the CO2 releasing period... the Rowalith C+ will dissolve and release calcium and other trace elements into the water... without CO2, the water running thru the CR will not carry much calcium as there isn't much dissolving activities going on inside... I think this is the concept behind a good CR setup... and yes... you need a reliable pH controller

That's why, it is advisable to buy a larger capacity CR to allow you the flexibility of not running the CO2 24/7. Bro Happy's tank is around 900 US Gal and he only runs his CO2 4 hours daily. So I expect to do the same also... probably 2 to 3 hours for a start.
