Hi, wondering about your pistol shrimp goby pair. Do they hang out in the open alot? I'm considering getting one shrimp for my lonely randall but I feel will be quite boring if they decide to hide in my caves all the time like my cleaner shrimps

Hi, wondering about your pistol shrimp goby pair. Do they hang out in the open alot? I'm considering getting one shrimp for my lonely randall but I feel will be quite boring if they decide to hide in my caves all the time like my cleaner shrimps

yeah quite alot but sudden movement = HIDE instantly !! heh

well for the crab i put in sump with the fishes for the last 3 days nothing it just burrow into the sand .. the sand goby sleep on it nothing happen yet

But generally crabs (of a certain size) are not a very good choice especially if you plan to keep small and shy fishes... coz your crab looks very fierce to me

Your crab - F. Xanthidae, Atergatis integerrimus (Red Egg Crab)

This is a poisonous family of crabs which toxins are not

destroyed even with cooking. (I don't think U will but ....)

Basically Herbivourous but IMHO, crabs are scavengers.

They will eat meat & will not pass a chance for a free meal.

Your fish lying on it was very lucky. This little fella (now) can

grow to 10cm (in the near future).

To keep a not is up to U. I just give friendly advice.

I've kept a few species of crabs b4 to study them.

U can look at my main tank 1st few pages to see the diff.

Bro... your LR resting on glass floor or sand? If sand... then don't get too excited with shrimps digging tunnel... they can weaken the sand bed and there is a possibility your LR can sink in anytime creating havoc on top... and if you do not have a thick glass... err... can be an armageddon waiting to happen... but the chances is gonna be very very slim
