Just Started this hobby for the last 2 weeks .. Still kinda Nooby so would really be great if u all share ur Gosu Exp on Reef keeping

Heres Spec of my tank

PH = 8.2

SG = 1.020

Temp Constant 25 - 26degree

Ammonia = Zero

NO2 = Zero

NO3 = 50ppm

Running on a hang on Filter / Macro AS-100 Skimmer (Thx Collinsoon)

Bought this On 15 May , Using UGF ... was clueless wats that and under advise from friends and forum reefers i started seeking for a skimmer .. And been running without Casuality Till now !!!

yandao i went yishun to find pipe fitting now not so ugly use 2 connected plus some of the rubber hose . now glue to corner ! but ur SKIMMER nearly OVER flow my room .. leh the bubble , flow out of the cup suddenly T_T ..

Yeah for a beginner I wldn't start with Anemone... even now I still dun like the idea of having Anemone in my tank... too dangerous...

Sg a little low. As your tank is small, all parameters tend to fluctuate greatly especially for Sg due to evaporation, top-up and water change. Bring the Sg slightly higher to 1.023. Although the acceptable range is 1.020 to 1.025, setting yours at the mid is the best. If you are using a normal hydrometer, they are known to be quite inaccurate. So keeping it at 1.023 will give you enough buffer in case your hydrometer sucks

Temperature is amazingly low (desirable). How you manage to keep it at that level? When it comes to measuring temperature, we need to observe for the entire day. That's why most of us rely on a chiller to keep our tank temperature within a 1.5ºC range througout the day. p/s: Using air con to chill your tank is a very expensive solution

NO3 quite high. Firstly, what test kits are u using? Are they new or second hand? 50ppm is sufficiently high to threaten coral growth and some sensitive LS such as shrimps and scallops... try to bring it down to 10ppm.

i using Air con chilling .. i stay in vancouver for a long time so i need 17 Degree daily lol thats why . heh .. I using first hand test kit salifert ppl tell me its a normal Cycle .

Worst Day of my Life ... Went to a LFS at Jurong East Bought a Iron Stand ... 43 Bucks thought tang tio .... as i was moving the stand to a london Cab .. my mom proceed to pay .. the guy took 50 bucks .. enter the shop later come out say never recieve the 50 bucks zzz .. The shop assist say we gave the money .. but boss ask him to diam ..z.z..z .. in the end pay 100 Bucks for a 3 ft stand Power sia respect .! .. .

well Starting on my 3 ft tank .. should be commission by next saturday now I am lookin for the following :

30-40KG Live Sand

20-30 KG Live Rock

and Someone NICE Enuff to Drive and collect 200 Litre of Sea water for me T_T

Take my advice, my old tank setup was using a 3Ft IR stand, within 6 mths badly corroded. I had to rebuild my setup becos of this. What u can do is go get some anti-rust paint it over first then paint another coat of gloss paint b4 using the stand. Just my 2 cents~
