Pl forgive me, I didnt mean to 'dig' on u. :P But would like to know if the cover applies to all gobies.

From what i read so far about some of the gobies, yes this cover thing does apply to them. Not just firefish goby.

It's quite hard to cover a tank when you have a pendant hanging overhead. You can probably just raise the sides to form a hood. So any jumping fish will hit the sides and go back into the water... if it goes straight up... it'll hit the lights! :D

It's not advisable to cover marine tanks because of heat and PH woes.

Well another way is to have a open top cover. The sides are covered but not the top. Usually abt 4 to 5 inches high. This way heat will not be trap in the tank yet at the same time prevent the fishes from jumping out.

Hi

In that case, is the blue-cheek goby a jumper too?

I have seen it clean the sand by expelling thru it's side and it's a rather interesting fish...

Beside that, are they safe to introduce to a tank with DSB, will they disturb the maturation of the bed? Esp with the nitrate-reducing beneficial bacteria?

And side-track a bit, are doc fish a suitable in a tank with few number of fishes?

And do they accept fish food or do they survive thru cleaning other fishes and consuming the stuffs they found on them?
