Does skimmer kill ur Green agae ?

Just install a marco AS -100 and all my plants and live rock seem to lose their color and vibrate over nite ? could it suck up all the goody things too ?

First of all I don't think there are plants in Marine... the most algae.

Secondly, how old is your tank? Gone through cycling phase (ANN Cycle) yet?

Erm, a skimmer definately would not cause your "plants" which i presume are corals to lose their colour. How old is your tank? Maybe you could measure your water parameters and compare it with those you took before you added the skimmer.

Can you show us a pix of the skimmate? From there, we can tell how much your new skimmer is removing from your water

I think what bro vandeam is trying to say is that whether a skimmer will draw out the nutrients required for corals/marine plants. Not to worry, although they will draw out protein together with some minerals, but it will not draw everything out of the tank, check out your PH, could be due to your PH. With constant dosing of essential nutrients and regular water changes, adding a skimmer does more good than harm.
